Dwelling & Private Domain
Living & Community: Belonging and Well-Being · Pillar 3 of 5
Privacy built into the architecture.
Every person retains a protected private domain — a bodily and mental space for rest, hygiene, study, intimacy, and withdrawal from involuntary exposure — and that protection is built into the architecture itself, not left to policy.
The design places the right in the structure so it cannot be argued away case by case. The chamber is engineered around the private domain, with the occupant holding control over light, air, sound, and access.

II · Why architecture, not policy
A right you cannot be talked out of
When privacy depends on policy, it bends under pressure — efficiency, crowding, cost, status. Building it into the physical dwelling removes that discretion: the protection holds regardless of circumstance. This is the same protected private domain expressed on the infrastructure side as the suite that opens onto a breezeway — see Apartments & Suites for how the building realizes it.
III · In short
Summary
The dwelling is engineered around a protected private domain for rest, hygiene, study, intimacy, and withdrawal — a right carried by the chamber itself rather than granted by policy, so it cannot be eroded by convenience or circumstance. The building that houses it is community-titled through Bureau 8 and leased through Bureau 2. Rest and privacy are one half of restoration; shared renewal is the other — recreation and culture.
