Learning Mentors & Practice Guides
Education & Culture: Wisdom and Character · Pillar 1 of 4
An anti-capture division of education.
Education is governed through a deliberate half-and-half division: exactly one half through Learning Mentors, exactly one half through Practice Guides. The split is an anti-capture rule.
Left entirely to one side, education fails in a predictable way — pure Learning Mentors drift toward detached academic monopoly, pure Practice Guides collapse into narrow vocational capture. Holding the two in constitutional tension keeps developmental formation and practical Business Enterprise transfer permanently balanced.
ANTI-CAPTURE
II · The community is the campus
Formation embedded in real work
Learning Mentors are not schoolteachers in the industrial sense. They do not deliver standardized curriculum to age-sorted cohorts in institutional classrooms; they work in the walkable community itself — in supervised kitchens, gardens, fabrication spaces, music rooms, and workshops — where formation is embedded in real work rather than abstracted from it. Practice Guides, in turn, are active practitioners who teach inside functioning stewarded enterprises, transmitting the tacit judgment that neither abstract instruction nor AI can encode.
The community is the campus. The Learning Mentor is the guide. On foundational formation
Records follow the same principle as everywhere else in the order: educational evaluations belong to the participant and may be shared only by the participant, for a specific current authorized purpose — never accumulated as an institutional dossier.
III · In short
Summary
Education runs on an exact half-and-half division — Learning Mentors (Bureau 5) forming the person, Practice Guides (Bureau 17) transferring applied Business Enterprise capability — held in constitutional tension so neither academic monopoly nor vocational capture can take hold. Formation happens in the working community rather than the classroom, and records belong to the student. That structure carries across a whole life, not just childhood — lifelong learning.
