NewVistas isn’t a single policy or program — it’s one coherent design, expressed across seven connected domains. Each rests on the same handful of constitutional ideas, so they reinforce rather than compete with one another. Here’s the whole picture, in brief.

Governance

Constitutional institutions for participation, accountability, and just administration.

NewVistas rests on a written constitution rather than on personalities or good intentions. Authority is deliberately distributed: governance runs through many small presidencies and councils of twelve across distinct domains, never a single chain of command. Offices carry bounded terms with staggered, birthday-based rotation, selection tempered by lot, and unpaid service — so no one advances by accumulating power. A few invariants recur everywhere: bureaus govern but never operate, decisions follow due process, and no office holds emergency power over another. The result is participation and accountability built into the structure itself, designed to keep power from ever concentrating in one place.

Economic Architecture

An economy designed for shared prosperity and productive Business Enterprise.

The economy is designed so a community can hold “all things in common” while every participant runs their own profitable Business Enterprise. The community holds title to productive assets; Enterprise Owners receive custody by lease and keep the businesses — and the profits — they build. What remains after an Enterprise Owner is provided for and obligations are met is the residual, which is kept and preserved as capital rather than consumed. The system grows on productive credit, not by spending that residual, and it administers first to those who have not, then the poor, then the needy — lifting people into sufficiency rather than leveling outcomes.

Physical Infrastructure

Resilient systems connecting people, places, and possibilities.

The community’s physical systems are built to endure and to stay humanly scaled. Housing is organized as compact buildings where every private suite opens onto a shared breezeway of circulation and service. Utilities run as “building organisms” — small firms serving clusters of buildings, each handling its own waste and recycling its own water — so the community leans less on vast centralized infrastructure. Materials follow a recovery-first path, with reuse before extraction, and mobility is kept decentralized and competitive. Underneath it all runs a proof rail: every action leaves a verifiable trace, making the whole order auditable without becoming a surveillance machine.

Living & Community

Vibrant communities designed for belonging and flourishing.

Daily life is designed for belonging and well-being. Food is a farm-to-table, subscription-based civilization where the social setting of a shared meal is preserved even as nutrition is personalized. Recreation — sport, arts, music, parks, and everyday gathering places — is treated as essential infrastructure rather than a luxury, with a protected Friday each week and a restorative thirteenth week each quarter to make room for it. Above all, privacy is built into the architecture itself: every person keeps a private domain for rest, study, and withdrawal that no convenience or emergency may override. The aim is a community where people genuinely flourish.

Education & Culture

Learning that cultivates wisdom, creativity, and character.

Learning runs for a lifetime and is deliberately balanced. Education is governed through a half-and-half division between Learning Mentors, who tend understanding, and Practice Guides, who tend hands-on skill — an intentional guard against either abstract academia or narrow vocational capture. Youth and adults alike take courses each quarter, with reading, writing, and mathematics woven into real subjects rather than drilled in isolation. Culture is cultivated by treating the whole community as a campus, where daily life, presentation, and shared meals all quietly form character. The goal is wisdom, creativity, and strong character — grown through the environment, not merely exhorted.

Business Enterprise

Responsible use of resources for present and future generations.

Business Enterprise is the heart of how responsibility works here. Everything begins with a Life Plan — a person’s own chosen direction — with a Business Enterprise Plan built against it and reviewed each quarter. New Business Enterprises are formed competitively, as experienced Enterprise Owners act as “consolidators” who assemble viable businesses for those just starting out. An Enterprise Owner genuinely owns their business and may sell it, though the community’s underlying capital never transfers. Risk is carried through lifecycle pricing and catastrophic-only insurance rather than idle reserves. Throughout, the guiding idea is care across generations: using what we have well, so future Enterprise Owners inherit more than they were given.

Environment

Restoring and regenerating the natural systems that sustain life.

The community measures itself against a thousand-year standard: no practice it could not sustain for a millennium. It aims to “fill the world while consuming steadily less of it” — settling compactly so that freed land is tended rather than abandoned. The landscape decides the farming, not the other way around, so each system stays within its natural ecological envelope. Biodiversity is treated as productive capital, with thousands of species cultivated for resilience. And a footprint fee restores true cost, so everyday choices reflect what they actually ask of the land. The intent is a filled earth that ends greener than before.
